Michael Longhofer

Visual artist Michael Longhofer studies and creates distortions, contemplative figures and cityscapes with his art. Michael’s versatility is the result of rigorous studies and an exemplary work ethic, coupled with a unique talent. His artistic approach is innovative but at the same time very respectful of tradition.

Michael’s work aimed at a new representation of the human figure, Inversion, freeing it from chains and perspectives, with surprising and innovative results, with bold use of lines and colors. He just recently started a new project, a series of black and white portraits of famous singers, musicians and celebrities, called Homage.”Michael Longhofer's portraits

Michael worked from 1994 to 2000 as a commercial artist, graphic designer and art director, continuing to develop his art and talent, creating a personal and immediately recognizable style.

Michael exhibited his art at prestigious festivals such as the Cottonwood Art Festival and the Fort Worth Main Street Festival. The artist currently shows in art galleries throughout Texas and California.

Michael was a finalist for the prestigious Hunting Art Prize three times.

Michael’s education includes:

  • Masters of Fine Arts Degree from West Texas A & M University in painting and drawing
  • B.F.A. from The Laguna College of Art and Design.
  • U.S.M.C Honorable Discharge

Currently, Michael manages his gallery and works as a painting and drawing teacher at Amarillo Art Institute and teaches art history at Clovis Community College in New Mexico.
